Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using FretScout. By accessing or using the service you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use FretScout.
FretScout is a read-only price comparison tool for musical instrument gear. We aggregate publicly available product listings from third-party retailers and marketplaces and display them in a single unified search interface. FretScout does not sell, list, fulfil, or ship any products. We are not a retailer, marketplace, or broker.
Prices, stock levels, product descriptions, and images are sourced from third-party websites through automated scraping and may be delayed, inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date by the time you view them. FretScout makes no warranty — express or implied — that any price or product shown reflects the actual current listing on the retailer's site.
Always verify the current price and availability directly on the retailer's website before making any purchasing decision. FretScout is not responsible for pricing errors, removed listings, or bait-and-switch pricing at any third-party source.
Search results include links to external websites operated by independent retailers and marketplaces (including eBay, Reverb, Craigslist, and others). FretScout has no control over the content, privacy practices, shipping policies, or business practices of these sites. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the stores whose listings appear in results.
Your use of any third-party site is governed solely by that site's own terms and policies. FretScout accepts no liability for transactions, disputes, or experiences arising from purchases made through links in our results.
Some listings — particularly on marketplace and classified platforms — may be fraudulent. Unusually low prices are a common indicator of scam activity. FretScout displays warnings where risk is elevated but cannot guarantee the legitimacy of any individual listing. Exercise caution, verify sellers independently, and never wire money or pay outside a platform's buyer-protection system.
You may use FretScout for personal, non-commercial price research. You may not:
Violation of these restrictions may result in your access being blocked without notice.

Product names, brand names, and trademarks appearing in search results (Fender®, Gibson®, Roland®, etc.) are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for identification purposes.
FretScout stores search history locally in your browser's localStorage to power the recent searches feature. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it. We do not collect personal information, create accounts, or use tracking cookies. Anonymized, aggregated usage data may be collected to improve search performance.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FretScout and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to lost profits, financial loss, or data loss — arising from your use of or inability to use the service, even if FretScout has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
FretScout's total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these terms shall not exceed the greater of USD $10 or the amount you paid to use FretScout in the twelve months preceding the claim (which is $0, as FretScout is currently free).
FretScout is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Search results depend on the availability and structure of third-party websites, which can change without notice and cause adapters to break or return empty results.
We may update these Terms of Service at any time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of FretScout after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice.
